Matt was born in New York, NY, and started playing tennis when he was 8 years old. After moving to Denver three years ago he became more involved in playing, coaching, and every aspect of the game while working at Gates Tennis Center. During the summer months he takes a more administrator’s role where he runs many tennis programs, junior tournaments, and adult tournaments at Gates. He looks forward to staying involved with tennis at the JCC this coming winter and is looking forward to meeting all of you!
Gabe Vicuna
Assistant Manager
Gabe has lived in Colorado all his life. He started out school at UNC Greeley and transferred to Metro State College of Denver. He earned his bachelors degree in December of 2009 in Human Performance and Sports with an emphasis in Sports Industry Operations. He started out his sports management career with an internship with the Colorado Rapids working under the Director of Operations. He was later given a Tournament Director Internship at Fossil Trace Golf Club which he turned into a permanent position as an Assistant Tournament Coordinator. He has been playing tennis off and on for a little more than 6 years. He is looking to getting back in the swing of things and loves playing with our members. He is also looking forward to a bright future working at the JCC.
Born in Louisiana, John has 4 years teaching experience. His dad Kyle is also a popular tennis pro! His favorite players are Marat Safin and Lleyton Hewitt. Topspins, forehands, and serves are his specialties. He will help you improve your footwork and is focused on having fun while playing. John is left-handed and also played on Metro State's tennis squad.
Ryan Gager
Ryan came back to Colorado in 2011 after living most of his life in Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Journalism and was a TV Sports Reporter at the local ABC station in Lincoln for six years before moving to Denver. Ryan is excited about a career in the tennis industry and will be a summer camp instructor in addition to working at the desk. He was a high school state runner-up in doubles in Nebraska and is looking forward to playing with the members at the JCC.
Aaron Holland
Aaron grew up in South Dakota where he played varsity doubles in both high school and college at South Dakota State University. He then moved to Colorado to obtain his Master’s degree in Sports Administration. Following the completion of his Master’s degree Aaron spent seven months as a Tennis Pro in his hometown of Rapid City, SD before returning this march to Colorado to work for the JCC Tennis Center. His favorite tennis player is Andy Roddick as he shares very similar tennis qualities. He looks forward to making everyone’s experience at the JCC Tennis Center a wonderful one!
